It's a special election and also Primary day for Republicans and Democrats. Ask for your separate, nonpartisan Precinct 5 Town Council ballot and the envelope that goes with it.
Polls open as always at the Osterville fire station 7:00am-8:00pm.
Town Clerk, 367 Main Street, 2nd floor.

OK, it's a bit confusing. Ready? Our special election is the same day as Primary day for political parties. The Council election has its own ballot, sent out separately...
Osterville, a little of Marstons Mills, Centerville, Cotuit
Due to the 2020 Federal Census, the Town made precinct boundary changes to comply with redistricting laws. Some voters in Barnstable may have been moved to a new Precinct. You can verify where you vote here.
The special election is September 6, which is also Primary day in Massachusetts. There's a ballot for Republican primaries, Democratic primaries, and a local ballot for Precinct 5 Town Councilor: three of them in all.
If you're a registered Republican or Democrat, you'll fill out two ballots: one for your party primaries and a second one for Town Councilor.
If you asked for mail-in ballots, the two will arrive separately (and should be returned separately in their own envelopes.)
If you're an unenrolled/independent voter like about half the state, just ask for the Town Council special election ballot and envelope. You can also participate in a party primary if you want and it will not change your status as an independent voter.

This means you have a Democratic or Republican party primary ballot.
Soon you should receive a second ballot, sent separately, for the local Precinct 5 election. (Please mail it back in the envelope provided with it.)
